In this policy the following words and expressions shall, in addition to their respective ordinary meanings, bear the following meanings assigned to each of them respectively:

“Act”                       means the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013;

“Company”             means Lexie Legal Services (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2012/098375/07;

This Privacy Policy provides the Company’s policies and procedures of for collecting, using, processing and disclosing your information. Users can access the Service through the Company’s website. This Privacy Policy governs the access of the Service, regardless of how it is accessed, and by using the Services you consent to the collection, transfer, processing, storage, disclosure and other uses described in this Privacy Policy on these terms and conditions. Information Provided by You

If you are a registered user, you may review, update, correct or delete the Personal Information provided in your registration or account profile by changing your “account settings.” If your personally identifiable information changes, or if you no longer desire our service, you may update or delete it by making the change on your account settings. Consistent with these requirements, we will try to delete your information quickly upon request. Please note, however, that there might be latency in deleting information from our servers and backed-up versions might exist after deletion.

The security of your information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number) on our order forms, we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).

We follow generally accepted standards to protect the information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, however. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. The User is solely responsible for obtaining the necessary consent from a third party prior to the User submitting information related to such third party and the User warrants that it has the requisite consent to share such information.

The Company may disclosure Personal Information about a User:

  • in order to fulfill a legal obligation imposed upon the Company to make such disclosure;
  • in connection with any legal or threatened legal proceedings to which the Company may be a party;
  • in order to protect its rights in relation to any fraud or risk management processes.

To the extent that a disclosure of Personal Information is required for purposes not envisaged or contemplated at the time of drafting this policy, the Company will endeavor to enter into a non-disclosure agreement with such third party.

In the event of a data breach resulting in the actual or potential dissemination of Personal Information related to the User, the Company will:

  • immediately notify the User thereof, in writing;
  • take appropriate steps to limit the impact of the breach;
  • engage with experts / service providers to evaluate the nature and extent of the security breach and the remedial steps that will be taken by the Company;
  • report back to Users on the outcome of its investigations and the remedial actions that the Company is taking to secure User data in the future.
